Love Match Report: Vedic Astrology Compatibility for Couples

A Love Match Report is a written Vedic astrology comparison of two birth charts that explains how a couple is likely to relate: where they connect easily, where they rub against each other, and which periods ahead will test or support the relationship. I’m Arjun, a Vedic astrologer in Sydney, and I prepare every report personally.

What is a Love Match Report?

It is a relationship reading built from both partners’ Janam Kundli (birth charts). Rather than giving you a pass or fail, it describes the dynamic between two people so you can understand it and work with it. It suits couples who are dating, engaged, married, or simply trying to make sense of a relationship that matters to them.

Many families in our community know Kundli matching through the Ashtakoota or Guna Milan score out of 36. That score has its place, but on its own it says very little about how two people will actually live together. I explain why in Kundli matching doesn’t predict a happy marriage. This report is designed to fill that gap.

What does the report look at in each chart?

• The 7th house and its lord – what each person seeks in a partner and how they behave in committed relationships.
• Venus – affection, attraction, pleasure and the way each person expresses love.
• The Moon – emotional needs, moods and what makes each person feel safe.
• Mars – drive, desire, temper and how conflict tends to play out.
• Jupiter – shared values, trust and long-term growth together.
• The Navamsa (D9) chart – the divisional chart traditionally read for marriage and deeper partnership.

The 7th house is often misunderstood as “the marriage house” only. It also describes business partners and anyone you meet one-to-one, which is why I read it in context. You can read more in the 7th house in Vedic astrology: partnerships, not just marriage.

How are the two charts compared?

Once I understand each chart on its own, I place them side by side. I look at how one person’s Moon sits in relation to the other’s, how the Venus and Mars placements interact, and whether each person’s Lagna supports or challenges the other. These overlays describe the everyday texture of a relationship: who needs more space, who needs more reassurance, and where misunderstandings tend to start.

I also compare the current and upcoming Vimshottari Dasha periods for both partners. Two people can be well matched but running very different chapters of life at the same moment, one building a career and the other ready to settle down. Knowing this helps couples be patient with each other.

What about Mangal Dosha and other doshas?

Mangal Dosha causes a great deal of worry, often more than it deserves. In the report I check for it properly, including the traditional cancellations that are frequently ignored, and I explain in plain language what it does and does not mean for your relationship. I will never use a dosha to frighten you, and I do not suggest that any ritual or purchase is needed to “fix” a relationship.

What will the report tell us?

• The main strengths of the match and where you naturally support each other
• Likely friction points and practical ways to handle them
• Communication styles and emotional needs for each partner
• Periods ahead that suit commitment, engagement or marriage
• Periods that may bring more pressure, so you can prepare rather than panic

What will it not do?

It will not guarantee that a relationship lasts, choose a partner for you, or replace professional relationship counselling. Astrology describes tendencies and timing; the choices you make together matter more than any placement. If there is conflict that feels unsafe, please seek support from a qualified counsellor or support service first.

What do we need to provide?

For both partners: date of birth, the most accurate birth time available, and place of birth (town and country). Please only send another person’s details with their knowledge and consent. If either birth time is uncertain, tell me when you order so I can explain which conclusions are firm and which are provisional.

Frequently asked questions

Is a Love Match Report the same as Kundli matching?

No. Traditional Kundli matching produces a Guna score out of 36 based mainly on the Moon’s position. The Love Match Report goes much further, comparing the 7th house, Venus, Mars, the Moon, the Navamsa chart and both partners’ Dasha periods to describe how the relationship actually works day to day.

Can we get a report if we are already married?

Yes. Many couples find it most useful after marriage, when they want to understand recurring arguments or a difficult stretch. The report explains each person’s emotional needs and the timing both of you are moving through, which often makes tension easier to talk about without blame.

Does a low Guna score or Mangal Dosha mean we should not marry?

Not on its own. A low score or a dosha is one factor among many, and Mangal Dosha is frequently cancelled by other placements. I look at the full picture in both charts and explain it honestly, so you can make an informed decision with your family rather than a fearful one.

What if one of us doesn’t know their birth time?

I can still compare planetary positions, including the Moon, Venus and Mars, from the date and place. House-based details such as the 7th house need a reliable time, so I will note which parts of the reading are provisional. An approximate time, even within an hour, is better than none.
