Yearly Horoscope Report (Varshphal): Your Year Ahead, Month by Month

A Yearly Horoscope report, known in Vedic astrology as Varshphal, is a personal forecast calculated from a chart cast for your birthday, the moment the Sun returns to its birth position. Arjun, a Sydney-based Vedic astrologer, reads it alongside your birth chart to give month-by-month guidance covering two years from your birthday.

Why a birthday-to-birthday year?

A calendar year is a handy accounting tool, but your astrological year begins on your birthday. At that moment a fresh annual chart, the Varsha Pravesh chart, comes into force. Its rising sign, its Year Lord and a moving point called Muntha set the tone for the next twelve months.

I then check that annual picture against your running Vimshottari Dasha and the major transits (Gochar), so the forecast reflects your own life stage rather than a generic Sun-sign forecast shared by a twelfth of the population.

Yearly Horoscope: your Varshphal, month by month

Your Yearly Horoscope gives you the full Varshphal framework: your annual chart, its key significators and a month-by-month forecast covering two years from your birthday. It is built for planning, showing when to push ahead, when to consolidate and which months deserve extra care. Here is what it includes:

Birth details and natal chart

24 months of monthly forecasts

Muntha lord reading

Annual ascendant lord reading

Year Lord reading

Annual (Varsha) yogas considered

Vimshottari Dasha context

Your forecast also includes your birth and annual (Varsha) Lagna charts, read together so each month is placed in the context of your whole chart.

Saturn’s long transits often explain the heaviest stretches of a year; here is what astrologers don’t tell you about Saturn’s return. If you are planning a specific step, Muhurta explains why a “good date” is not always the right timing.

Yearly horoscope FAQs

When does my Varshphal year start?

It starts on your birthday, or more precisely at the moment the Sun returns to the exact sidereal position it held when you were born, which can fall a day either side of your calendar birthday. The annual chart is cast for that moment, which is why a Varshphal is personal to you rather than tied to 1 January.

What is Muntha in a yearly horoscope?

Muntha is a sensitive point that moves forward one sign each year from your birth Lagna (rising sign). The house it occupies in the annual chart, and the condition of the planet that rules it, highlight the area of life most in focus for that year, such as home, career or partnership.

How is this different from a newspaper horoscope?

A newspaper or app horoscope is written for everyone born under one Sun sign. A Varshphal is calculated from your exact birth data, your annual chart, your current Dasha period and your own transits. Two people born on the same day but in different cities or at different hours will receive different forecasts.

When should I order a yearly horoscope?

Ordering in the weeks before your birthday lets you begin the new astrological year with the forecast in hand. It is still useful at any point, though: the month-by-month section shows what lies ahead in the months that remain, and the two-year span carries you through the following year as well.
