Rahu Remedies

Rahu remedies are simple traditional practices, such as mantra, daan (charity), fasting and daily habits, used to support Rahu (the north lunar node) when it is weak or afflicted in your chart. Rahu (the north lunar node) is linked with ambition, restlessness, confusion, sudden change and foreign connections, so these remedies are chosen when those areas feel blocked.

  1. Not physical planets: Rahu and Ketu are the two points where the Moon's path crosses the Sun's path.
  2. Always opposite: they sit exactly 180° apart, so whatever Rahu activates, Ketu balances on the other side.
  3. Moving backwards: they travel in reverse through the zodiac, about 18 months in each sign.
  4. Pull and release: Rahu pulls toward the new, the foreign and the ambitious. Ketu loosens our grip on what is finished.
  5. Why timing matters: in a Rahu or Ketu period, a chart check shows which houses are being stirred and how to work with them.

When are Rahu remedies recommended?

They are recommended when your birth chart, Dasha or transits show Rahu (the north lunar node) under strain. Typical indications:

  • You are running a Rahu Mahadasha or Antardasha
  • Rahu is joined by the Sun, Moon or Jupiter
  • Rahu is transiting a sensitive point in your chart

Rahu and Ketu always sit exactly opposite each other and move backwards through the signs.

Traditional Rahu remedies

The core Rahu remedies are reciting its mantra, giving its traditional daan on Saturday, and building a few steady habits.

Everyday practices that support Rahu (the north lunar node):

  • Recite the Durga Chalisa or Durga mantras
  • Avoid intoxicants and shortcuts in money matters
  • Keep a steady daily routine

Should I wear a gemstone for Rahu?

Not without a personal check. A gemstone strengthens a planet, which helps only if that planet is beneficial for your Lagna; for some charts it can amplify difficulties. Arjun confirms suitability, weight and timing first, or you can order the Vedic Gemstone Report.

Frequently asked questions

How long before Rahu remedies help?

There is no fixed timeline. Remedies are steady practices rather than quick fixes. Most people follow them for at least a few months, or through the relevant Dasha period.

Do I need my birth time?

Yes, ideally. An accurate birth time shows which house Rahu (the north lunar node) rules and occupies, which changes which remedies make sense.

Is there a puja for Rahu?

Yes. For stronger support Arjun can arrange a Rahu Puja performed in your name.

When Rahu is the pressure point

Rahu brings sudden change, ambition and pull toward the unfamiliar, including moving overseas. In a Rahu period people describe confusion, restlessness and upheaval, and many migrants tell me about visa and residency uncertainty. Remedies steady the mind so good decisions can be made.

What people tell me

  • Sudden career upheaval or confusion about direction.
  • Restlessness, poor focus and no peace of mind.
  • Visa, residency and migration stress, and worry about Kaal Sarp Dosha.

The traditional remedy

Rahu Shanti Puja, or a Kaal Sarp Dosha Nivaran Puja where that yoga is present, with Durga worship, Om Raam Rahave Namah on Saturdays and less overstimulation.

The Vastu zone to look at

South-West: Rahu's zone (Nairutya). A South-West entrance or a cut corner there is the classic issue; soften the threshold with a brass strip or plants and keep the area heavy and closed.

Questions people ask about Rahu

How do I get through Rahu Mahadasha?

Keep a simple routine, avoid shortcuts and speculation, and check decisions with someone you trust. Durga worship and a Rahu mantra help many people. Rahu often gives big gains when you work with its hunger for growth rather than against it.

Does Rahu in the 12th house mean I will settle abroad?

Rahu in the 12th is a classic sign of foreign connections and life overseas, and it is common in the charts of people who migrated. Whether you settle permanently depends on the 4th house and Dasha timing as well.

Can astrology help with my Australian visa or PR?

It can show when a period is more supportive and help you stay steady while you wait. It can't change an application outcome. For visa advice, please use a registered migration agent or the Department of Home Affairs.
