Astro Research (“we”, “us”) provides Vedic astrology reports, consultations, Vastu advice and puja services through astroresearch.com.au. We respect your privacy and handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Contact details: your name, email address, phone number and, for puja orders that include prasad, a postal address.
- Birth details: date, time and place of birth for you and, for matching reports, your partner. We need these to prepare your chart.
- Your questions: anything you choose to tell us in an order note, form, email, phone or WhatsApp message.
- Order and payment records: what you bought, when and how much you paid. Card and PayPal payments are processed by PayPal; we never see or store your full card number.
- Website usage: pages visited, device and browser type, approximate location and cookies, collected through analytics and advertising tools once you consent.
How we use it
- To prepare and deliver your report, consultation, Vastu advice or puja, and to send prasad where applicable.
- To reply to your enquiries and send order confirmations.
- To keep records we are required to keep for tax and accounting purposes.
- To improve our website and, only if you agree, to send occasional updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.
We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
We share information only as needed to run our services: our payment provider (PayPal), our website host, email and analytics providers (such as Google and Meta, if you accept cookies) and, for puja services, the priests who perform the puja on your behalf (name, gotra and birth details only) and the postal service that delivers prasad. Some of these providers store data outside Australia, including in the United States and India. We take reasonable steps to make sure they protect it.
Cookies
Our site uses essential cookies to run the shopping cart and checkout, and optional cookies for analytics and advertising. When you first visit, you can accept or decline optional cookies, and you can change your choice at any time through the cookie banner or your browser settings.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as tax law requires (generally five years). We keep your birth details so that follow-up questions can be answered, and delete them on request unless we must keep them by law.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections and restricted administrator access. No online service can be completely secure, so please contact us promptly if you think your information has been misused.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@astroresearch.com.au and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with how we handle a privacy concern, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
