Kaal Sarp Dosha Remedies

Kaal Sarp Dosha remedies are traditional practices, such as Shiva worship, Rahu and Ketu mantras and Naga Panchami observance, used when all seven planets sit on one side of the Rahu-Ketu axis. A partial Kaal Sarp pattern is common and usually needs no special remedy, so the first step is confirming whether the full yoga is present.

  1. Not physical planets: Rahu and Ketu are the two points where the Moon's path crosses the Sun's path.
  2. Always opposite: they sit exactly 180° apart, so whatever Rahu activates, Ketu balances on the other side.
  3. Moving backwards: they travel in reverse through the zodiac, about 18 months in each sign.
  4. Pull and release: Rahu pulls toward the new, the foreign and the ambitious. Ketu loosens our grip on what is finished.
  5. Why timing matters: in a Rahu or Ketu period, a chart check shows which houses are being stirred and how to work with them.

Frequently asked questions

Is Kaal Sarp Dosha permanent?

No. Its intensity is usually strongest during Rahu and Ketu periods and eases with time and maturity.

Do I need a puja?

Not always. Many people follow simple mantra and Monday remedies; a puja is suggested when the yoga is strong.

Is it in classical texts?

It is debated. It is widely used in modern practice, so Arjun reads it alongside the rest of the chart.
