- Check 1, find the true direction: stand inside facing out and use a compass app set to true north. Note which of the 16 zones the door sits in.

The Directions & Zones (The Framework)
We divide your space into 16 precise zones. Accuracy is key—a difference of 5 degrees can change a diagnosis.
- North (N): The zone of Money & Opportunities.
- North-East (NE): The zone of Mental Clarity & Wisdom (Note: This is the brain of the Vastu Purusha).
- East (E): The zone of Social Associations & Government support.
- South-East (SE): The zone of Fire, Cash Liquidity & Zeal.
- West (W): The zone of Gains & Profits.
- North-West (NW): The zone of Support, Banking & Helpful People.
The Panchtattva
If these elements are out of balance, life struggles begin. We analyse the “Cycle of Creation” and “Cycle of Destruction” in your home.
- Water (Jal): Resides in the North & NE. Controls flow of life and immunity. (Blue/Black colours).
- Air (Vayu): Resides in the East & NW. Controls movement and growth. (Green/Brown colours).
- Fire (Agni): Resides in the South & SE. Controls passion and cash. (Red/Orange colours).
- Earth (Prithvi): Resides in the SW. Controls stability and holding power. (Yellow/Golden colours).
- Space (Akash): Resides in the West & Centre. Controls expansion and communication. (White/Grey/Metallic).
The Devtas (The 45 Energy Fields)
This is the most advanced layer of Vastu. Your home houses 45 specific energy fields or Devtas. If a specific Devta is disturbed, specific problems arise.
- Kuber (North): The guardian of wealth. If blocked (e.g., by a kitchen), money gets stuck.
- Aryama (East): The energy of connections. If disturbed, you feel lonely or socially disconnected.
- Indra (East): The King of Devtas. Governance over power and growth.
- Varuna (West): The Lord of the Ocean. Responsible for binding people and profits together.
- Brahma (Centre): The Creator. The core of the house (Brahmasthan) must remain empty and open.

Case Studies
Example 1: A Sydney home with constant arguments (residential Vastu)
The issue: A Sydney couple came to Arjun because arguments at home had become constant and neither of them felt rested. The diagnosis (directions and elements): after gridding their floor plan, Arjun found two faults:
Kitchen in the North-East: the North-East is associated with the water element and mental clarity. A kitchen represents fire, so fire sitting in the water zone is treated in Vastu as an element clash, often described as “heat” in the household.
Bedroom in the East-South-East: this zone is traditionally linked with churning and overthinking, which is not ideal for rest.
The correction
Rather than move the kitchen, Arjun used a traditional element-balancing remedy under the cooktop and suggested the couple move their bedroom to the South-West, the earth zone associated with stability. The couple told us home felt calmer after the changes. Vastu is one influence among many, and we always encourage couples to seek relationship support alongside it.
Example 2: A business struggling with cash flow (commercial Vastu)
The issue: A Melbourne manufacturing business with a strong product was struggling with cash flow and finance applications. The diagnosis (zones):
Toilet in the North-West: the North-West is traditionally associated with support and banking relationships, and a toilet there is treated as a zone of disposal.
Main entrance in the South-South-West: this zone is traditionally associated with expenditure and waste.
The correction
Because the toilet and door couldn’t be moved, Arjun used traditional metal-strip and threshold corrections to contain the North-West toilet and stabilise the entrance, and suggested an activation for the North-West. The owners told us they felt more confident in client meetings afterwards. Vastu works alongside good financial advice and planning, never in place of it.
